Painting Case Study

Having recently completed a painting and decorating renovation project on a listed historical mill building in the heart of Derbyshire that has been converted to private residential apartments and townhouses, we have submitted an entry for the prestigious painting and decorating contract of the year award in conjunction with Johnstones paints.

The project was completed within 7 weeks and has restored the exterior paintwork of the building back to its original glorious condition in keeping with the historical requirements of the mill.

Due to the location of the mill, being situated upon the River Wye, surrounded by woodland and the steep hills of the Peak District National Park, the work required the utmost care and attention in respect of preparation works prior to applying the finished paint coatings. It also called for free access to all pedestrian and vehicle areas at all times, therefore, careful planning was required when using the power access machines within the boundaries of the mill adjacent to the River Wye. Access was also gained by working over the River Wye which called for great diligence of behalf of our skilled operatives working upon the project in order to comply with all current Health and Safety legislation.

The project was finished ahead of time and received high praise from both the contract supervisor at Keith Perry Chartered Surveyors together with the residential committee at the Mill.

This is the second conversion of this type we have recently completed following a referral whereby we had been recommended for the high standard of workmanship and smooth execution of similar works all completed within accepted timeframes and budgets.
